LUCKY SOCKY

After years of folding my socks like this, I just noticed they resemble a bunny. Sometimes it takes a while to see the most obvious things.

GRENDADE BUNNY CRATE PROCESS

A few process pics of the crate that will hold my grenade bunny sculpture. Handles need to be changed, details added to the wood, paint, graphics applied, etc. but it's coming along nicely. Pre-sale should be available in a few weeks. As promised, mailing list subscribers will be the first to know.

Grenade Bunny Sculpture Process - Pt. 4

Here's a really quick update, after a few rounds of changes I received a pic of the grenade bunny prototype with the body reworked and looking much better. The legs need to be attractively attached so it can be painted. Hope to share those pics with you soon...

Grenade Bunny Sculpture Process - Pt. 3

The prototype, primed and looking good. Still a few more tweaks to me made but I'm very happy with how it's turning out. Most likely grenade bunny will be packaged in a mini weapons crate-like cage to emphasize the military/bunny concept. I'll post more pics when available. Be sure to join my mailing list for information regarding the pre-sale so you can reserve one. Like my prints, the edition will be very limited.

I'll also be framing some and will have them up on my site soon. The Giclee prints are a way to offer affordable prints to those who missed out on sold out screen printed art.

Second color done and drying on rack...

Bunny Love Pt. 4

Checking the color against my pantone swatch book. At this stage, the blue was too dark and opaque...

It's a small run so I add transparent base to the screen and mix...

After a few rounds of mixing in transparent base and test printing I'm finally happy with the light blue...

Mixing the second color, rose...

Bunny Love Pt. 3

This print required tight registration so I racked the paper before printing to let each sheet expand, contract, or whatever it wants to do. The temperature in my studio varies and all paper reacts differently especially when ink hits it...

Putting the screen in the press...

First color, aqua...

First test print...

Bunny Love Process PT 2

"Shooting" a screen meaning blasting it with a very bright UV light...

All the areas blocked out by the light (black on film) wash away creating a stencil...

Bunny Love Process PT 1

Film positive generated by my Epson...

One film for each color...

The screens are coated with photo emulsion, one screen for each color...
